WAMFest update: Sat Spec announced, new WAMCon speakers and more

The annual WA music scene highlight gets bigger and bigger.

There's some spectacularly large news to come out of the WAMFest this week, so we'll try to capture it all as concisely and quickly as we can inside this little blog post right here.

The first important thing to note really, before you even bother checking all the below because you know it's gonna be great is that the deadline for cheaper early bird tickets is midnight Monday 3 October, so go suss your options HERE.

WAMCON ADDS NEW SPEAKERS

WAMCon has added to its already massive list of international and national speakers arriving in WA for conferences and panels on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 November.

The new speakers include:

SATURDAY SPECTACULAR

The next order of business, and you're gonna need to take a big breath for this one, is that 80+ killer local artists have been announced for the ever-fantastic Saturday Spectacular (November 5), taking over 11 venues from 4 til 11pm, including the Wilson Roe St. Car Park (Block Party), PICA Amphitheatre (Perth Cultural Centre – ALL AGES), Badlands Bar, The Bird, The Boston, Ezra Pound, Hen House Live, Jimmy's Den, The Moon, Mustang Bar and Universal Bar.

SUNDAY BEST x PARLOUR

In an Australian Festival first, WAMFest presented by Drug Aware is putting the festival into the hands of the punters by partnering with Parlour to bring you this year’s epic closing party, Sunday Best, on Sunday 6 November. Parlour is something like an AirBnB for music - providing a unique online platform to put artists in touch with music lovers who want to hose an event in their own bloody home, making this your chance to create your own WAMFest party - more details on how to apply HERE

FRIDAY SHOWCASES

Friday 4 November sees a series of live music showcases presented by WA's best promoters, organisations and venues, in conjunction with WAM. it will feature shows presented by the likes of moshtix, Perth Theatre Trust, RTRFM, Emergence Creative, Cool Perth Nights, Move, Spooky Action, Stormrider Touring, Sweet Mate Music, Matchless Music, Blue Grey Pink and Unzipped Records from 5pm til late at various venues from Northbridge to Freo, Bassandean and back again - more details on those parties HERE.
