The first lineup for EMCPlay 2016 is here

The first round of acts includes Paces, Kuren and Pilerats Records' own Lower Spectrum.

Last month saw the Electronic Music Conference announce a rather large first round of speakers, with representatives from Future Classic, Boiler Room, Goldenvoice (the company behind Coachella), Red Bull Australia and Google Australia all speaking at this year's event, running at Sydney's IVY Complex from November 28th to December 2nd. By night, however, the panels and keynotes make way for EMCPlay, a night filled with emerging and already established Australia talent, programmed by triple j Unearthed's head honcho Dave Ruby Howe. Taking place on Wednesday November 30th, Sydney's biggest mid-week romper will this year feature names including Paces, Kuren, Pilerats Records' own Lower Spectrum, Lastlings, Human Movement, Made In Paris, Tigerilla, Alice Ivy, Mickey Kojak's side-project The Tapes, Tina Says and a hell of a lot more names to be announced before the night.

Speaking about 2016's lineup, Dave Ruby Howe assured us that this year's lineup will be one of their greatest yet, saying "from shuddering club music out of WA to emotional electronica from the Northern Territory and heavyweight hitmakers in Sydney, the applications for EMCPlay 2016 offered us an exciting reflection of the crazy amount of talented artists making electronic music in Australia right now. We couldn't be more stoked to share the first lineup announcement for this year's EMCPlay featuring a couple of favourite faces and some emerging stars who we reckon will define the future sound of Australian electronic music." With 2016's biggest, such as Paces and Kuren, mixing with 2017's up-and-comers Tina Says, Alice Ivy and The Tapes, we can't help but agree that this year's EMCPlay lineup is one of their most promising, Aussie talent-filled rosters to date.

Full lineup, final party lists and performance schedules are set to drop on November 16th, with over 40 acts anticipated to head Sydney way for this year's event. EMCPlay Early Bird tickets are now onsale (until September 21) from $29 HEREFor the rest of the conference, you can suss out the details and buy early bird tickets from only $99 HERE.
