Marvel And Their Brilliant Re-Imagination of Hip-Hop Classics
From Drake to A Tribe Called Quest they've got the best of the best.
Back in August, Marvel won itself a few fans in the hip-hop world - they decided plain old comic book covers weren't cutting and decided to comic bookify (I'm not sure if that's a word but work with it) some massive hip-hop albums to include characters from the Marvel universe. In September, they dropped a few more artworks (Jay Z, 2Pac, Mos Def) now in October they've gifted us re-workings of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, Drake's Nothing Was The Same, Future's DS2, Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and more.
This wasn't a decision made overnight to ride the coat-tails of successful rappers, but rather a relationship formed over fifteen years ago as, Hypetrak reports. And it's say to safe after seeing these covers, Nothing Was The Same...
