$1000 band comp JAM-BOREE #3 returns to Jack Rabbit Slim's this Friday

Along with Australia's most sought after trophy for 'Most Bodacious Guitar Solo'.

Picture this, if you will: You're a young band, in your infancy but getting some serious props from friends and family, playing shows about town here and there. You even score an opening slot for a national support. Sure they paid you in a few jugs but that's how it works. This is rock and fucking roll. Now imagine being that band, but playing to a crowd not dissimilar to what you see in the header photo of this article. That photo was taken at the second Jack Rabbit Slim's JAM-BOREE, where a bunch of local bands battled it out for a $1000 cash prize (+ still getting paid to play regardless), in a comp that's judged by a fan voting system (putting tokens in your fave band's jar).

After successful first and second events, JAM-BOREE returns this Friday 20 May to Jack Rabbit Slim's where five bands will battle it out for that sweet, sweet cashola, along with the secondary prize of "Most Bodacious Guitar Solo". Punters not only get to catch some upcoming local acts do their thing on a big stage, but there's a crazy amount of drink specials to go with free entry. Take a listen to the bands thaty've got lined up once you've frothed over the incredible trophy best solo wins, below:
