Video Premiere: POOKIE & Kuzich - FEEL IT IN THE BLACK (Live from Northside)

Boorloo-via-Naarm MC & producer follow-up their dope new single with a party-starting live version and video

A few weeks on from dropping their dope single FEEL IT IN THE BLACK (that made our 10 best tunes of the week list!) Boorloo/Perth-via-Naarm/Melbourne MC POOKIE and beatmaker/producer Kuzich are back with a live version and video, filmed at Fitzroy's iconic Northside Records, and we're stoked to be premiering it on Pilerats today!

A slick & sexy, lush & layered cut of soulful hip hop, FEEL IT IN THE BLACK pairs Kuzich's bouncy, atmospheric beats with POOKIE's confident & powerful vocals, with the live version taking these vibes to the next level. With POOKIE commanding the makeshift stage with her trademark swagger, the video filmed and edited by Will Hamilton-Coates captures the party that was the one-off live in-store performance perfectly in video form.

FEEL IT IN THE BLACK follows a big year so far for POOKIE that saw her part of this year's Groovin the Moo touring festival, performing alongside the likes of Denzel Curry and Fatboy Slim. She's also just been announced as playing this year's BIGSOUND festival, and will be part of the NGV Friday Nights series in Melbourne in September. Meanwhile Kuzich, who in the past has collaborated with the likes of Joyce Wrice, Ta-ku, Sampa The Great and more, as well as solo releases on influential labels like Jakarta and Brownswood, will be releasing a new album later this year, with FEEL IT IN THE BLACK the first taste of what to expect.
