Bouncy heat from the newly-returned-to-the-scene LA producer.

Peruvian-born, New York-raised, LA residing singer and producer Alejandro Chal, who goes by A.Chal, is suddenly on one after a two year hiatus - today releasing his third track in as many months.

Despite the fact that he scored a deal with Sony on the huge online buzz 2013 EP Ballroom Riots conjured up, A.Chal’s had a massive break between then and now, deleting his Soundcloud and going off the grid. When we heard the downtempo, piano-led GAZI in July, it marked the first offering from A.Chal since that 2013 EP. With GAZI however, he quickly re-entered the interwebs, scoring over 100K plays on SoundCloud within a few months, and performing on the Interview Mag stage at Coachella, before chasing GAZI up with Round Whippin. Both GAZI and Round Whippin’ have been getting airplay love on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show and OVO Sound Radio, too.

Now we have VIBE W/U, as premiered by fan A$AP Rocky on his Twitter yesterday – A.Chal quickly makes a strong 'this is a jam' first impression with this one, which sees 11LIT3S on production assist. It’s way more bouncy than earlier work we’ve heard from him, which sat in the 'pre-Weeknd becoming huge' murky R & B realm. It's more fun when we’re alone, it’s more fun when we know it’s wrong, sings A.Chal on the cruisy track, which ends with some chill electric guitar. A.Chal's Welcome to GAZI EP is due later this year. No word on an A$AP collab but with the Twitter endorsement we wouldn’t be surprised if something exciting surfaces soon.
