Meals dishes up some lyrical sweetness on new track Kracken Fashion

Lo-Fi rap with some serious flow

It ain’t too often that you come across an Australian Hip-Hop artist that lives up to the title of lyricist. I believe that meals is a guy more than worthy of this label. Along with guys like Baro and Gill Bates, Meals is one of the few Australian artists of the genre that I actually genuinely enjoy listening to on the regular.

Kraken Fashion – his most recent release – is a perfect example of Meals’ natural flow. Following a discussion of world domination and ice-creams amongst a group of kids, Meals’ distinctive lyrics float in over some crispy lo-fi production from Intzu. The ability to weave words together in the way Meals does is an ability few possess. The features from Revan & Squint are also easy on the ears. Perfect for late-afternoons or very early mornings. Ahh fuck it, any time of the day is good!
