What So Not sneakily released a heavy new remix with QUIX over the weekend

The Australian export teamed up with Kiwi QUIX to remix AWOLNATION's single Run.

Australian electronic export and Pilerats favourite What So Not, the cheeky bugger that he is, dropped a new remix on the weekend with almost no warning. The producer has teamed up with New Zealand heavyweight QUIX for a huge remix of AWOLNATION's already triumphant single Run, injecting each of their own flavours into the heaving remix. The remix begins with a gradually building introduction, which quickly heats up into another cinematic and orchestral build sampled from the original. The whispering synth and strings then suddenly drop away in favour of a charging breakdown dominating by electronic guitar before it switches up again for a more traditional trap breakdown – all in the space of a minute or so. QUIX's trademark pitched saws come flying in around mid-way through, paired with broken deep bass kicks and crisp percussion claps. It's a huge remix – nothing we wouldn't expect from the pairing – which is sure to tie us over while we continue to wait for What So Not's forthcoming debut album and whatever our neighbouring QUIX has in the pipeline for 2018.

Check out What So Not at this month's Spilt Milk Festival, and see QUIX tear it up at any of the following dates throughout the rest of the year:
