Meet mysterious producer Mad Article & his crunchy single, Take Me Back ft. Kinnie Lane

A Brisbane product with a heaving first single.

Mad Article is a new artist project from a Brisbane-based producer who will so far remain anonymous, in an effort to work on some fresh new sounds that we're very much vibing. Recently dropping debut single Take Me Back feat. French vocalist Kinnie Lane via Tinted Records, it's a big banger that we're very keen on. We sent Mad Article a few questions to do a bit of sleuthing and try find out more...did we succeed? Read/listen on below to find out.

Tell us about about the project?

Mad Article is all about sampling and writing great songs with unique vocalists.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Energetic and fun vocal-led tracks, music with attitude that doesn’t fit neatly into a specific genre.

Production/writing process:

All sample-based. I first started writing music on an Atari and Akai S2000 sampler and I’ve now returned to that old cut up sample workflow. The more energy the better and I like to create layers throughout the tracks to build momentum. Once instrumentals are ready its then the process of finding the right partner to help create the vocal lines.

Can you tell us about your new single, Take Me Back feat. Kinnie Lane?

I stumbled across Kinnie over Youtube and once I heard her voice I knew she would be a perfect fit for an instrumental track I was working on. I wrote to her and in a few days the vocals came back. Kinnie Lane is a great songwriter and has such a unique vocal which really shines on this track.

Any shows coming up?

Live show would be rather short at the moment, so I’m focusing on writing the music at this stage and will look to come out of hiding in 2018.

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

I’m writing heaps of new instrumentals and searching for unique vocalists. Plenty of new music to come in 2018.

Where can we hear more of your music?

SOUNDCLOUD, UNEARTHED.
