TOKiMONSTA and Jonny Pierce go transcendent for new video Giving Up

Giving an insight into what a broken heart might look like.

Coming off well-received sets at Coachella, TOKiMONSTA has now unveiled her new music video Giving Up with none other than Jonny Piece from The Drums. A song about being in love with someone who’ll never reciprocate, the video follows a young man who finally snaps after having the unwanted epiphany that his one true love will never be with him. Directed by David Gantz and Theo Cohn, the video focuses on surreal elements of space (with beautiful vision of the our galaxy) and distorted, trippy imagery to symbolize the inner-workings of a heartbroken man’s mind and heart. Despite the surrealism, Ben Mullen’s (DP) visuals have a surprising sense of place against Pierce’s poetic lyrics: "777 times I would forgive you / If I knew your heart was mine / Every time I take another chance / You leave me broken".
