Swindail releases new single C'est La Vie, announces Australian tour
To cap off the big week, the Sydney producer has also scored a production credit on Goldlink's new album At What Cost.
With the release of the funky Jussrite, Sydney-based beat-maker Swindail cemented his status as one of 2017's one-to-watch, promising a big year to come. His wonky, long-awaited remix of Mura Masa's Lotus Eater was the next move, but his latest, a ripping, hip-hop leaning single entitled C'est La Vie, is his biggest tackle on Australian electronic dominance yet. C'est La Vie continues with Swindail's trademark, jazzy feel, but this time it incorporates more of a hip-hop flavour with the help of US-based MC Innanet James, who donates a laid-back vocal line to the track's equally casual production. The single comes alongside an accompanying tour, which sees the producer bring an exciting new live show across the country starting in April, which also includes a brief national support slot for Snakehips' Groovin' The Moo sideshows (dates below).
On top of all this, the producer has topped off his massive week of announcements with a co-production credit on Goldlink's debut album At What Cost, with Swindail lending a percussion-driven beat for the album's 12th single Kokamoe Freestyle.
