Canberra based sawist, violinist, singer and producer Emma Kelly AKA Happy Axe is the newest singing for forward-thinking label Spirit Level (run by triple j presenter Tim Shiel and Wally de Backer AKA Gotye), and her new single Seven Sounds is a pretty clear explanation of why. Dramatic, atmospheric, haunting and utterly engrossing, it crawls under the skin with moody strings and warbling, otherworldly bass sounds. The track is taken from her forthcoming album Dream Punching, and if this is anything to go by we're in for something incredibly special.
