Premiere: Listen to 'Wings' by Tiber, the first release on Moonbase Commander's new label

Trench Records kicks off with an exciting first bang.

Today sees the announcement of Moonbase Commander's new record label - Trench Records - and to give you some idea of what to expect we're excited to premiere a cut from its first official release, Tiber's Self Control EP, due this Friday 18 November. Geelong's Tiber brings a diverse sonic palette with a style that flits between west coast hip hop, jungle, future-beat, trap and more, and Wings is a tantalising first taste:

"This EP is definitely influenced by the need to take control of certain aspects of life and not let them take over, be it work or play. It's kind of a raw, basic human thing that needs to be done and these songs are a reflection of that," says Tiber of the incoming five-tracker. It's also a reflection of the kind of left-field bass sounds we can look forward to from Trench Records: “Tiber is at the forefront of a burgeoning wave of Australian producers that are pushing the envelope between the worlds of hip hop and bass music, which perfectly encapsulates everything Trench is about.”

The EP was also mixed and mastered by Tiber himself, along with designing the artwork, espousing a creative DIY ethos that gets Trench Records off to the best possible start. Enjoy Wings below, and keep your ears out for the full Self Control EP this Friday.
