The synth pop act take a detour into an early house/electrospace with their latest EP release.

Last week we premiered v (House of Yes), an infectious good cut taken from the forthcoming Web Rumors EP Disciple, a release which enters the world today through Group Therapy Records digitally and via cassette.

Produced and mixed by songwriter, singer, and musician Em Burrows, the release see’s Web Rumors synth pop sound taking a natural detour into more of an early house/electrospace, with the occasional feature of a big Sax solo and Burrows’ trademark vocal hooks. Compiled of five tracks; the bright and sharp i, evolving groove-heavy ii (Love in Revolution), fun and sci-fi feel of iii, the pop-laced melodies of iv (Got to Try), v (House of Yes), and a bonus track Heaven (which we’ve previously discussed here), Disciple is an enjoyable listen from start to finish, bringing out all the best sounds from underground clubs of the late 70s and early 80s to create something refreshing and fun.

With a launch coming up next week at Astral Weeks (Northbridge), you can likely expect to encounter cuts from Disciple in DJ sets on Boorloo/ Perth dancefloors over the coming months. But for now be sure to hit play on the latest Web Rumors EP below, as it enters the world today.

Web Rumors' new EP Disciple is out August 17 via Group Therapy Records
