Listen to some bassy, oriental vibes from newcomer MKSHFT on Omkara

Interesting blends from this London beatmaker.

Words by Michael Heffernan.

Debuting electronic artist MKSHFT has unleashed his first major track Omkara to the world. The beatmaker, originally from India, draws major inspiration from traditional Indian music while intensifying it with a bass-driven, electronic backbone. MKSHFT’s passion for music led him to travel to London in search of fulfilling his creative dream of producing music that evolves and modernises Indian and Hindu folk music. Omkara centres on Ganesha, the celebrated elephant-headed Hindu god, and is deeply tied to evoking Ganesha’s power over knowledge and success.
