Listen: Lonelyspeck - Wring
Good music for an even better cause.
When natural disasters occur people like to talk about them and in the case of most make a Facebook status about it. But that’s pretty much where it stops for a lot of people, taking the next step and actually doing something to help requires effort. And in the case of TEEF Records’ Imperium In Imperio; an album of unreleased tracks from Australian artists where the profits go to Oxfam Australia to help with disaster relief in Nepal is a fair bit of effort, we feel. And while it’s a pay-what-you-want release I’m sure you can cobble together a few dollars for a good cause and download it HERE. It's an incredible lineup of underground Aussie electronic acts like Electric Sea Spider, St. South, Collarbones, GRRL PAL and more.
The first track, Wring, is from Adelaide producer Lonelyspeck and it sounds like a cross between the ambient soundscapes of Yujen and a very dreamy sounding early Oscar Key Sung. Wreathed in synths, Lonelyspeck’s fragile voice fits the lo-fi style production nicely. Take a listen below, and check the amazing tracklist after that.
