Released as a part of his diverse Some But Different EP, Southampton-based producer DEVolution has shared Gio, his most recent single featuring former Parachute Youth frontman Johnny Castro under his new alias, Yeah Boy. A smooth, laid-back piece of house, Gio is quick off the mark with an infectious disco-esque groove, with shimmering chords and a real groover of a bass line. The feature that makes the single however, is Castro, with his infectious vocal hook picking up similarities with Julian Casablancas in Daft Punk's Instant Crush, tying the laid-back beat together with a sense of completion and giving it a more of radio-friendly, disco-pop vibe than a full-out club thumper.
