A zany new single from Animal Collective.

In short FloriDada sounds like something the The Beach Boys would make after going to a psy trance rave. It's also Animal Collective's first single off their upcoming album Painting With. Absolutely fizzing with energy FloriDada barely pauses for a moment, throwing in wild, throbbing bass lines, voices running over each other and lyrics like, "Find Roy Orbison cryin’ / A continent molded from glass / or maybe a town I can taste. Dresses that glow on / girls from Barcelona,". Funnily enough, abstract lyrics are something the music industry has profited on since the dawn of time when someone thought it a good idea to sing over people hitting things together, so who am I to complain. In fact the totally zany nature of the song is what I love, it makes no sense, everything seems to be going the other direction to what it just passed but that's what makes it great. It's just Animal Collective having fun and making good pop music in the process.
