Introducing the disco-electro world of Aileron and his new single, Fresh

An Australian dude pumping tunes all the way from Canada straight into our eardums.

Aileron is bringing disco back to 2017 with his new single Fresh. Hailing from Ulladulla and currently pumping beats out of Canada, Aileron is a fresh face in the game and as you will read below he has been working hard to bring you his first single. Hear his new single and learn a little more about him down below.

Tell us about about yourself?

I'm 27, living out of whistler Canada, snowboarding the backcountry by day and producing by night, born and raised in Ulladulla NSW. I made the move to Sydney in 2007 DJing a few nights in the area and also venues in my hometown. Producing since 2007, in 2012 I made the move to Perth, and after the realisation of juggling production and a full time job wasn't working, I made the move to remote Canada and setup a well-equipped studio to focus solely on music, with a bit of snowboarding on the side to keep the sanity in check.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Classic disco-inspired electronic music with a modern production quality, blends of funk, outrun and pop, lots of vintage equipment influencing the tone of productions.

Production/writing process:

I have always started off my productions with building a solid and complex drum track, usually taken from vintage machines layered with self-recorded claps and percussion, and then moving onto a chord structure and finally a bassline. Once everything is sounding musically harmonious, I will then commence the sound design, spending days or weeks programming all sounds in accordance with the direction I want to take the track. Having a room full of vintage and modern equipment makes the process long, but rewarding. All tracks are started from scratch and no templates or loops are used, I find this way of writing prevents creative repetition and each song takes its own journey.

Can you tell us about your new single, Fresh?

Fresh is a modern nu-disco/outrun jam with driving bass and classic brass on the breakdowns, a present clap and snare drum track keeping true to the French touch of nu-disco, topped off with some vocoder. It's sure to be an upcoming sound for many future productions.

Any shows coming up?

I will be travelling to Melbourne to play the the laser highway leg of the Phaserland Tour on the 17th of November, also sharing the stage with Jordan F and Vast Hill from Sydney at the Rubix warehouse, more shows TBA.

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

I am currently undergoing some huge investments in my current studio, building a custom workstation and software, as well as new synthesisers and processors, I expect to have some new tunes out in the coming months and will be focussing on quality, both musically and technically.

Where can we hear more of your music?
