An Antipodean Night Out: A "Facts-Only" Kinda Playlist From Soothsayer

An Antipodean Night Out: A "Facts-Only" Kinda Playlist From Soothsayer

A little prelude to the Melbourne label's upcoming party, Northern Exposure.

Soothsayer is made up of Chris Rigney (Greco Roman, Modular), Zac Kostos (Director of Let Them Eat Cake) and Tig Huggins (Director of Sugar Mountain, Two Bright Lakes), combining forces to release that make them feel nice things. And hopefully make the listener feel similarly. They also occasionally throw parties, and one of those is rapidly approaching at their second home in Sydney - Ricardo's on Friday 5 May. There they'll be hosting the wheel-spinning selections of CC: Disco, Hubert Clarke Jr, Sam Weston, Andy Garvey and Love Deluxe, and to get you in the mood they've crafted a very tidy little playlist called, An Antipodean Night Out.

Read up on it and tuck in below, and head to the FACEBOOK EVENT for more info.

Here at Soothsayer we only deal in facts. First fact - we have lots of good music coming out of this country. Also fact – a lot of the best stuff sometimes goes under the radar. Triple fact – we all love dancing the night away. So after many margaritas and a long weekend away in a sleepy coastal town of which we were nearly run out of while compiling it (another fact - shout outs to the Lorne & Order fam for holding us down), we decided to combine all these facts for a facts-only kinda playlist.

We have lots of incredible scenes bubbling away in various parts of the world with really incredibly talented souls making life-affirming music. Think of this playlist as a shining light on those cats (+ some familiar faces too 'cause it’s good). The idea was to soundtrack a night out using only our very talented inhabitants of our very lovely country. There’s down-tempo for the pre-drink conversations, a bit of pepper for the cab ride to the club and some disco and house for dancing until lights. Also some treats for that dawn-time wander home with a smile. ALL ANTIPODEAN ARTISTS. AAA for those who are in marketing.
