WATCH: Winifred - On Yr Time

A playful up-beat track between empty car parks and rooftops.

Singer-songwriter and dancer Winifred debuted her first body of work EP 1 last week via MNRK Music Australia, featuring a new single On Yr Time with a video to accompany. The track features a clear polished production, with sass-filled vocals, and euphoric harmony layers lifting the track, with catchy hook I won’t be on your time bringing it to a whole new level.

The song was written whilst the Townsville based songstress was in LA on a writing trip. On the inspiration Winifred shares,On Yr Time is about being an observer of someone using their strengths to control and manipulate people around them and the frustration of feeling as though you’re the only one who sees it for what it is. It’s a cheeky little pop song with serious undertones. The dynamics of being in the same world as someone like that can sometimes bamboozle and disorientate but ultimately it’s about distancing yourself in order to be on your own time, not someone else’s.'

The partnering video showcases Winifred's effortless swagger, and moves as a dancer, self described as highly expressive and dance oriented. We shot this one in Brisbane, cutting between carpark rooftops”.

Out now on all streaming platforms, be sure to indulge in the catchy pop track and music video below.
