Text Message Interview: Jack River and Bec Sandridge get hyped for Electric Lady Fest

The event's creator catches up with one of her special guests.

Next month (June 30 and July 1 to be exact) will see the inaugural Electric Lady Fest going down - a new all-female media movement featuring some of this country's biggest acts: Alex Lahey, Ali Barter, Bec Sandridge, Gretta Ray, Body Type and RACKETT, along with Jack River, who concepted Electric Lady: "The last year in music, politics and culture made me realise the time is now for this idea. Girls are ready to amplify their talent alongside each other, and the world is ready for diversity in female role models," she said to triple j. In addition to putting on a couple of huge music parties in Sydney and Melbourne, Electric Lady will be speaking to powerful female voices like Stephanie Gilmore and Tyler Wright, astrophysicist Katie Mack, activist/actress Isabel Lucas, aeronautical engineer for DASA Belinda Pavlovic and more.
