Premiere: Ziggy Alberts debuts a beautiful acoustic version of Stronger

The completely independent east-coast musician has become an Australian favourite over the years - something his new video is only set to solidify.

In an age where the music industry is bent by marketability and virality, it's hard to find an artist as authentic as Ziggy Alberts. The east-coast indie-pop darling is an artist who despite finding a whole lot of fame both nationally and internationally over the last four years, has always remained independent - doing things on his own accord, to his own schedule, how ever he pleases. He's launched his own label - Commonfolk Records - and kept true to his self-made sound and likeability as he's rose through the ranks, whether it be sold-out national tours, ARIA-charting albums or a whole lot more.

2018 was a big year for Ziggy defined by the release of his latest album Laps Around The Sun - a dizzying, ten-track display of the authentic indie-pop that has seen Ziggy Alberts rise and rise over the years, drawing comparisons to names including Ben Howard and John Butler as he searches and fleshes out the more emotive side of indie, something his newest video premiering today - a live, stripped-back edition of one of the album's many stand-outs, Stronger - comes to spotlight. Armed with only a strumming acoustic guitar and his own vocal, the acoustic version of Stronger highlights the emotive drawl to his music; his voice taking on a longing, yet still uplifting tone as it sways above a gentle guitar instrumental. Filmed at RNZ Studios, it's a real delight, so watch it below before its official release tomorrow and dive back into Laps Around The Sun HERE.
