Perth trio The Limbs release huge new EP Beginner

The up and coming rockers are onto a winner with this one.

If grunge, indie, garage and punk all got together and had a loud but terrific musical orgy, and then, nine months later, gave birth to some kind of beautiful music-baby (I don't know how this would be anatomically possible but please try and work with me here), I have a feeling that the baby's crying would sound something like The Limb's new EP Beginner. Okay, so that was a terrible and slightly fucked up analogy, but after listening to this EP, which drops today, you'll catch my drift.

The Perth trio have been slaving away since the release of their debut, self titled EP back in 2014, writing plenty of new material and playing shows damn near every week. After reshuffling their lineup and spending countless hours in the studio, The Limbs have cracked a winning formula on Beginner. This EP traverses every rock sub-genre under the sun but does so without ever becoming confusing, shifting seamlessly between distortion laden grunge moments and bright, melodic indie hooks. If Beginner is, as the name suggests, just the start for The Limbs, then the future is very bright indeed for these Perth rockers.

If you're in Perth you can catch The Limbs playing their Beginner EP Launch at Babushka on Friday June 3.
