Listen: Whiskey Jack - Haystacks EP

Check out the new four track EP of country and folk flavours from the Boorloo hills-based musician

Following a string of singles, West Aussie singer, songwriter and “hiking, springtime and nature enthusiast” Whiskey Jack has unveiled his new four track EP, Haystacks.

Combining elements of country and folk with modern pop sensibilities, Haystacks sees Jack’s smooth, poetic vocals meet all manner of uplifting guitar melodies. With tempos and style ranging from the rollicking jaunt of the title track to the waltz influenced A Great Vine, Haystacks covers a lot of ground in its roughly 15 minute run time.

A collection of “story songs rooted in the great outdoors”, the EP takes the listener on a visceral journey through a range of natural settings, including field, vineyards, forests and the classic garden, while themes of allergies, hard work, sacrifice and mental health are all explored.
