Framed: Stormie Mills - Things That Go Bump in the Night
An exhibition of Halloween-inspired work from the prominent Perth artist.
Perth favourite Stormie Mills is set to showcase a new series of work opening on the eve of Halloween. If you live in Australia or have an interest in public art, you've no doubt seen his work around. Mills' trademark dark paintings and poignant characters have marked walls across Western Australia including the Murray street Carpark in the CBD (painted as part of 2014's PUBLIC Festival), Prince Lane and the inside of Milk'd cafe – and who could forget that iconic feature in Northbridge? His style results from an extensive childhood interest in horror comics and the street art that shaped his later adolescent years, leading to a continuing visual exploration of the human condition. Things That Go Bump in the Night is his latest offering, dealing with themes of iconography, monsters, costumes and commonality. We're super excited to see this body of work on display at THERE IS at 49 Stuart street in Northbridge, kicking off on the 30th of October and running 'til the 8th of November. Here's a little sneak peek of what to expect.
