New Music: In Hearts Wake - Breakaway

Byron Bay metalcore lords In Hearts Wake stun with announcing second album in a year.

Byron Bay’s In Hearts Wake have been making serious waves in the Australian and international metalcore scene since releasing the powerful Earthwalker last year, and today they both stunned and treated fans by announcing that part two of the album will be released this May, just a year on from their last record.

Skydancer is the second half of 2014’s award winning Earthwalker and In Hearts Wake have kept very hush-hush about the album drop, only giving away occasional, cryptic hints at a new project in the form of logos and photos posted on social media. The band announced this morning that Skydancer will be released on May 1, with its first incredible single Breakaway premiering on triple j earlier today.

Both Earthwalker and Skydancer were (impressively) recorded during the same session in late 2013 but the band have remained entirely tight-lipped about the latter’s existence up until now. The two albums make up part of a combined project and share lyrical themes, artwork and charitable intentions; with Skydancer seeing In Hearts Wake work directly with Local Futures- “a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and renewal of ecological and social well being at a local, tangible level”.

Pre-orders for Skydancer are available through UNFD. Check out the video for the single Breakaway below!
