This photographer has created a gallery of dicks dressed as political figures
Meet Donald "The Dick" Trump and more, taken from a gallery of dicks dressed as world leaders.
The public has a lot of names for politicians and other well known but unpopular public figures; assholes, jerks, scumbags and perhaps most frequently - dicks. So it's really no surprise that photographer Soraya Doolbaz has created Dicture; a gallery fashioning male genitalia with outfits and hairdos to look like celebrities and other notable personalities. In the gallery's introduction, Doolbaz explains that the internet is filled with 'tits and ass' because it's what straight males want to see, and that the aim of Dicture is to rectify the one sided status quo of nudity on the internet.
In a recent interview with Dazed, Doolbaz explained that the the dick pic sending epidemic in today's smartphone society was what triggered the idea for the Dicture Gallery: "When I was single I would get them quite frequently…after talking to friends about this, I realised everyone is getting them, I thought the concept of dick pics is really funny and I wanted to take it up a notch." Doolbaz also spoke about some of the specific requirements needed from her 'models' while shooting: "Erection maintenance is a big part of the shoot. A limp dick can't hold up a jacket." No, no it can not.
As hilarious as it may be seeing penises dressed up in a gallery wearing miniature outfits, Doolbaz's intentions behind creating both the Dicture Gallery and her second series Dick-tators weren't to simply earn a few cheap laughs. She questions: "Why does nudity and sex have to be one in the same? Sex and humour are a great combo…By dressing up penises, I have found a way to desexualise the boner. I also try to shoot many different types of penises. I want people to change their idea of what is normal. What you see in porn is not normal."
