Listen: Sir Bishop - Southbound
Here’s a 21-year-old hip-hop artist who deserves a little more attention.
Sir Bishop is a hip-hop artist and rapper from Memphis, Tennessee, now based in Atlanta, Georgia. The 21-year-old caused a little attention when he dropped a track on Soundcloud last month called Tea Leaf Tales, produced by Atlanta electronic producer Feverkin. You can listen to that beauty HERE. Sir Bishop has been rhyming professionally since 2013, making his mass debut on the song Dreams off collaborator Koresma's Live EP.
A tribute to the city and everything chill, Sir Bishop’s new tune Southbound is groovy as hell, filled with jazzy bass licks and chill guitars and instrumentation (note: the track is not even remotely connected to our Busselton music festival). Sir Bishop’s rap style is poetic and unique, and mixes with the chill-vibe really well, exhibiting meaning and direction to what is already a super enjoyable instrumental piece. He even refers to himself as a "poet over dope instrumentation", which is actually a pretty on-point self-analysis.
Sir Bishop is working on an EP entitled Green Tea x Wood Chips – keep an eye out for that later this year, and listen to Southbound below:
