Watch: Danny Seth – I Arise Because

The British Are Coming…

I Arise Because has been floating around the Internet for a few months; causing fights amongst A$AP Ferg fans as to whether Ferg stole this beat for This Side or Danny did. I think it’d be safe to say Seth had it first as I Arise Because has been out for over eight months. And while the video stirs up the drama it’s a perfect time to talk about the young spitter that is Danny Seth and the rap / art collective he is part of, Last Night In Paris (LNIP). I Arise Because sees Seth in the same vein as A$AP Rocky with a greater focus on aesthetics, note the BMW, and beats that stop you in your tracks, than lyrics with deeper meaning. The same goes for A$AP worldwide and LNIP highlighting a greater shift within American and to a lesser extent British rap towards style defining your identity. But Seth and LNIP have their own UK twist with a focus on nationality, note the seductive sample, ‘The British Are Coming,’ that appears constantly in their work.

I Arise Because is part of Danny Seth’s forthcoming Perception mixtape set to drop soon, but for the time being satisfy yourself with his Boiler Room set.
