Listen: Le1f - Ooh (Truffle Butter)

Le1f heaps brilliance on top of brilliance; making Nicki & Drake's track his own.

Truffle Butter was our club anthem this summer just gone - we've moved into Autumn but this track still remains in heavy rotation. You can't really top Nicki taking the risk to switch up from her usual and go in over a catchy Maya Jane Cole electronic house sample and having it totally pay off, with Cash Money labelmates Wayne and Drake also offering up perfect verses - the trio have a great synergy and we hope they cross paths again once their Cash Money deals are done.

New York-based rapper Le1fan unapologetically queer rapper whose stood his ground and defended his identity in an urban rapshere littered with rough male gangsta archetypes, is a current nominee on the XXL Freshman List. He recently gave us this remix of Truffle Butter, and in the process reminded us why he deserves a spot on the list - the Wut rapper is vying for the 10th spot on the coveted list. I wouldn't have thought anyone would be able to fuck with this track, but Le1f's work on it actually complements it perfectly, with a third verse that is just straight-out fire. Stream it below, and go vote for this very deserving candidate HERE. If you're not convinced, you definitely need to go back and listen to Le1f's breakout EP, Heyit's sure to change your mind.
