Listen: Coin Banks - Someone (Renz Remix) [Premiere]

A couple of good friends combine for a pure Friday jam.

Coin Banks has spent most of 2015 out on the road, whipping crowds into a frenzy all around the country on tour with ARIA-nominated rapper Seth Sentry, and misunderstood PETA-lovin' wordsmith 360. He's enjoyed national radio success with tracks like Think Of You and Someone, and we have a remix of the latter by none other than fizzy synth lord Renz to premiere today! But why listen to us whittle on about it? Here's some choice words from Coin and Renz on what it was like working on the track:

"I always loved the remix culture that was a huge part of '90s and early '00s hip hop. It's different now, hip hop has changed a lot, but I like to hold on to that memory of the hip hop culture I grew up. Someone has had such a great response, so I hit up the homie Renz, who is an incredible beatmaker, and is definitely on the come up, and had Perth homie Lewis Galaga jump on and do a verse. To add final icing on the cake, Atom mixed it and tweeked it to make it into something I am very happy with" - Coin Banks

"This was really fun, I kind've taken it back to my old beat making roots with this one, it was a bit of a challenge getting the chorus to work because of the sample I used but the vocals are that good so in the end it went swimmingly haha! Coin is a good friend of mine so I was really happy he asked me to flip this and I hope I did it justice! Shout to Lewis for his killer guest verse as well, hope you dig dudes!" - Renz
