Watch: Andrei Eremin - Anhedoniac

Watch: Andrei Eremin - Anhedoniac

Andrei Eremin steps out of the shadows dropping his first ever music video.

23-year-old Melbournian Andrei Eremin really should need no introduction, but his trade always requires one as he's very much a behind-the-scenes man, having mixed and mastered records for the likes of Chet Faker, Oscar Key Sung, Hiatus Kioyete and Japanese Wallpaper. He’s a seasoned musical engineer, behind some of your favourite records of the past couple of years.

What’s incredibly cool is that this fellow has decided it’s about time he started releasing his own material. From what we know Eremin is set to release his debut album Pale Blue on the 28th of August. If you’re even slightly into down-tempo ethereal beats be sure to give Anhedoniac a crack. Urban Dictionary tells me those who suffer from anhedonia have the inability to derive pleasure from day to day activities that the vast majority of us would find enjoyable. The piece is thoughtfully put together dominated by spacey synths, melodic beat scales and KUCKA’s floating vocals. I find this track has an alluring air of anticipation about it…like something awesome is about to unfold.

Accompanying this wraithlike track comes an impressive music video put together by James Brett and Louis Mitchell. The clip follows a night out between a group of eccentric and very distinct young adults. They seem to fatefully end up together, running amok on the city streets, raging in a club and breaking into a rooftop swimming pool. It looks like a whole load of fun!

Enjoy the tomfoolery below and keep your ears pricked for more of Andrei Eremin.
