Splendour In The Grass RBMA Stage Line-Up
The Red Bull Music Academy stage is looking epic.
The Red Bull Music Academy stage will be gracing the fields of Splendour In The Grass, Byron Bay once again this year, its third time doing so and with a typically effortless line-up of both exciting internationals and on-point Australians across three nights.
Friday night sees LA-based DJ and producer Nosaj Thing headlining, supported by the likes of Future Classic’s Charles Murdoch, our own experimental rhythmic prodigy Catlips, upcoming Sydney singer/songwriter/producer Deutsch Duke and our own Willow Beats – all joined by Red Bull Music Academy alumni Mark Maxwell and a host of gifted local acts, with the day being closed out by house don Motez:
STRAL PEOPLE DJS – CATLIPS - CHARLES MURDOCH – DEUTSCH DUKE – KLO - MARK MAXWELL – MOTEZ - NOSAJ THING - QUEEN MAGIC - SILENTJAY & JACE XL - WILLOW BEATS
Continuing in the hip hop-headliner vein on Saturday night will be Jay Electronica, hailing from New Orleans and signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. Keeping the beats coming is Melbourne rapper Baro, alongside FBi Northern Lights competition winner Lucianblomkamp, four-piece live ensemble Kirkis, plus Sampology Frank Booker:
A LOVE SUPREME DJS – BARO - FRANK BOOKER – HAU - JAY ELECTRONICA - KIRKIS – LUCIANBLOMKAMP - M5K - OKENYO - SAMPOLOGY - TUKA
The Sunday night programming rolls on wth JMSN, from recent Ta-ku Love Again fame, Melbourne’s Total Giovanni (live) and ya boy Sable returning for the second year running. And with memories of Nicolas Jaar’s 2014 closing set still ringing in the ears, it’s fitting that completing the line-up for 2015 is none other than WEDIDIT founder and chief future-bass-beatmaker Shlohmo rocking a DJ set to close the Red Bull Music Academy stage and the entire festival:
ELEVENTEEN ELSTON - HWLS – JMSN – SABLE - SHAOLIN AFRONAUTS – SHLOHMO (DJ SET) - THANDI PHOENIX - TOTAL GIOVANNI (LIVE) - WILDLIFE RECORDINGS TAKEOVER
With this year's Red Bull Music Academy taking place in Paris, the Splendour stage will be evolving into a contemporary, cutting edge creative space that will transport you from the land of Splendour to the City of Light. Featuring a throw-back to Parisian haute couture, when film noir and quintessential fashion photography beat the heart of the French capital, and the streets were flooded with 70s fashion icons.
Tickets for Splendour in the Grass are sold out, however RBMA will be giving music fans one last shot at scoring the elusive ‘billets’ – head HERE for information on how to win. We're also running a comp for a double camping pass, click HERE for info.
