Premiere: Listen to a cruisy new single from Taka Perry, Fishy feat. Jimmy Davis

The emerging Sydney talent finds a powerful vocal ally.

Sydney-based producer Taka Perry caught our ear a little while ago with his dramatic single, Slow, and today we're stoked to premiere his next single - Fishy featuring the smooth vocal work of singer/songwriter Jimmy Davis. It starts out supremely cooly, before a heavy arrangement of synths and key-noodling comes into play, exploring well-told stories with a fresh take: “Jimmy and I wrote Fishy the day we met each other. I met Jimmy through a mutual friend and we decided to jump into my studio and see what we could come up with. Jimmy had the lines "She reels me in and casts me out, with the hook still in my lip," written in his notebook, and the track naturally wrote itself from there."

We think you'll find they make a pretty great pairing - tuck in below and catch the official single launch on Saturday 19 November at Lowbrow Gallery in Canberra (more info HERE), or tonight at the Oxford Art Factory with a bunch of great young acts (details HERE).
