PNAU played a DJ set at a random house party in Perth last weekend
Not a bad 21st present at all.

Last weekend saw the ridiculously large Hot Dub Wine Machine tour wrap up in Perth to a (fucking huge) number of people out at the glorious surrounds of Houghton's Winery. The tour also marked the official return to the stage of Aussie dance music icons PNAU, celebrating this summer's most requested track (and the object of our own obssession a few times this year), Chameleon. As attendees of the festival, we can attest 110% that PNAU have not slowed down one bit, and with the added tour de force that is vocalist Kira Divine, their set was an absolute highlight on the Saturday. They also did their own DJ set to a packed Villa the night before, and, as it turns out, played a surprise DJ set at a 21st House Party after Hot Dub Wine Machine.
And after photographer Perry McLaughlan sent us a bunch of snaps from the night, we couldn't resist running the shots and also finding out just how the fuck this most glorious, FOMO-inducing event, came to be. So we asked Dylan Hindle AKA Perth's premiere purveyor of all things house and tech, Dylan iS, just what happened:
"Basically, we sent a message to their Facebook page asking if they could come and play. The booking agent came back asking about budget and what not and Chantal (whose 21st it was) said she could pay $1k out of her own pocket, obviously they were like, "sorry but that is waaaaay short of the price range" haha. Then in a last ditch effort, she messaged Nick Littlemore's page and he was like, "Yeah I'm really keen!! We will be in touch". Anyway she got the number of their tour manager Jimmy who then said we will talk at the Villa gig.
"At the Villa gig I explained what the party would be like (Coachella-themed), showed him pics etc, then we spoke to Sam Littlemore and Pete Mayes and they were both frothing. So he locked it into their schedule. Then during her speeches they rocked up in their tour van. I frantically rigged up some microphones and stuff and then they jumped on for a DJ set with Nick Littlemore and Kira Divine singing over the top."
