Premiere: ALTA add a chilled-out house touch to Kilter's I Hear You

The Melbourne electronic duo dim things down as they take on their tour mate's charging single.

Currently supporting the percussion king himself on his Through The Distortion tour, emerging Melbourne electronic duo ALTA have stepped up to remix Kilter's vocal-infused I Hear You, one of the stand-out singles from his just-released debut record. The original is all about the vocals, combining a soaring vocal lead with a gritty synth line and whining melodies. However, ALTA's take on the single is a more streamlined instrumental affair, chopping up the original's vocals and incorporating it into a blissful, house-leaning production reminiscent of Jamie XX and Bonobo. The remix, which clocks in at just under five minutes, is full of atmosphere and this thrilling yet still quite joyous vibe, sourcing from the remix's echoing synth chords and the way ALTA perfectly manipulate that female vocal to give the remix that extra edge. Listen to the track below, and be sure to check ALTA out when they support Kilter in the remaining dates of his Through The Distortion tour, which is sticking around Australia for another week with fellow Aussie production gun Feki - dates below.
