ODESZA and Golden Features join forces for Memories That You Call remix

ODESZA and Golden Features join forces for Memories That You Call remix

Teased in Golden Features' live show, the huge VIP remix arrives as a part of ODESZA's A Moment Apart Deluxe Edition.

If you caught Golden Features on his national album tour earlier this year, chances are you would've caught a glimpse of a teasing remix for an ODESZA album cut which, for the lack of better word, was absolutely mammoth. When news arrived of a forthcoming Golden Features remix on an ODESZA remix package a few months back, many thought it would be it, only for it to be a complete other beast that combined "slight shadings of the original with a thick, gradually-building bass line and Golden Features' signature deep synth," which if you remember correctly, eventually burst into a "rolling breakdown that twists and turns with this warp, almost metallic-feeling sound." While it was definitely a banger, it wasn't the beast we craved from Golden's live show, but now we've got it, arriving as a part of a deluxe edition of ODESZA's latest album, A Moment Apart.

It's a VIP edit made by both ODESZA and Golden Features and it's the perfect balance between light and heavy, opening with ODESZA's signature vocal-synth and punchy percussion that eventually, whips into a bassy, Golden Features-esque breakdown that the vocal-synth continues to glide over the top, joined by a string section in the later moments. Monsoonsiren's pitched vocal joins the party in the mid-point, offering a moment of harmonious relief before that crashing Golden Features breakdown returns once again, reminding you to snap up those Falls Festival tickets to see Golden live over the New Years break - tickets and full line-up HERE. It arrives alongside a VIP mix of the long-time ODESZA fan-favourite It's Only, alongside a handful of soft, tender reprises for a couple of A Moment Apart's more striking moments. Check out the full deluxe edition HERE, and the Golden Features x ODESZA VIP remix below.
