Listen: World Champion - Shakes

World Champion release a seriously catchy follow up to Avocado Galaxy.

When you release a song entitled Avocado Galaxy, you'd expect the music industry to usually take notice. Even more so when that track is an absolute gem of what can be best described as psych synth-pop. Heavyweights such as Noisey and Red Bull Studios went mad over the release calling it  "zingy, infectious pop at its finest" and "a delicious slice of spacey indie-electronica." To our delight, the pair has now released the second single off their forthcoming Avocado Galaxy EP, Shakes.

Shakes is super catchy, founded on a contagious drum loop intertwined with psych-rock chords and a host of digitalised bleeps. Campion’s vocal is dreamy as ever, fluttering effortlessly over that driving beat. This release has a vintage feel, almost like something The Kinks could have put together decades ago. All the while sitting nicely in the 2015 soundscape, with just the right amount of electronic influence.

I know a lot of tunes we write about are labeled the perfect road trip track but this one trumps them all. Imagine speeding along a coastal highway with a salty summer breeze on your face with this spilling out of your car speakers.
