Listen to Kimbra's commanding, Skrillex co-produced new single, Top Of The World

It’ll feature on her third album Primal Heart – out January 19.

New Zealand songstress Kimbra, who Australia has basically claimed as their own for the past five years, has a new album on the horizon and today we’ve been treated to another taste of what’s to come. The triumphant, global-inspired track was co-produced with none other than Skrillex himself, evidently weaving his magic through the underlining bass moments on Top of the World. The expansive beats surge and fall over three and a half minutes, never overpowering Kimbra’s stunning vocals while still reinforcing the earthy nature of the track. The rhythmic sections have a world music feel to them, yet Skrillex’s industrial production injects a contemporary electronic sound to seamlessly meld all the elements together.

It’s a change of pace from the jazz-influenced style that originally skyrocketed the GRAMMY award winner into the spotlight, now shifting us all into a new era of Kimbra. Top of the World will feature on Primal Heart: the third chapter in Kimbra’s book, which sees the artist stripped back, returning to her roots and showing a vulnerability never seen before. The album is set to drop in January, which is available to pre-order now.
