Listen: Giraffage & Slow Magic - So Cute!

Futuristic beat-men Giraffage and Slow Magic team up for their first original.

Earlier this week, U.S producers Giraffage and Slow Magic proved that we’re definitely living in a digitised era of music. The first official collaboration between these two is a beacon for electronic music of this year and beyond. I actually caught a set from Giraffage at last years OutsideIn Festival and I distinctly remember feeling as though I was pleasantly trapped inside a Gameboy. If you’re looking for a comparison, look no further than our very own Wave Racer. He is commonly known to slide Nintendo-enthused sounds into his originals and remixes.

In the past, both artists have tried their hand at remixing one another and I guess it was just about time to partner up. Welcome to So Cute!

This was always going to be a neat collaboration as both Giraffage and Magic share a love for atmospheric synths, tweaked vocal samples and skittered drumbeats. Appropriately, the dudes have employed said passions into this heaving electronic concoction. Kicking off with high-pitch vocal cuts, the track evolves into a synth-pounding affair, littered with bleep effects and electrically bent keys. I almost feel like I’ve achieved a high score in a video game and am being rewarded with this very audio.

Get synthesised.
