Lido salutes David Bowie with a touching cover of Space Oddity

Can you hear me, Major Tom?

Following on from Gang Of Youths, Sarah Blasko and others, Norwegian producer Lido is the latest musician to pay tribute to the late David Bowie, releasing an emotional cover of Bowie's 1969 release Space Oddity. The cover is simple, yet effective, with a wobbling electronic melody stirring quietly behind Lido's soft, distorted vocals, creating a very weightless sound overall. With a nod to the original to end the cover, Lido's salute to Major Tom is a modernized re-do of the single, yet still manages to capture the charm of Space Oddity and Bowie as a musical legend.
