In The Booth: Torro Torro
The heavy Canadian duo are in the country right now.
Canadian duo Torro Torro are currently romping around Australia throwing down some big time electro sets, and we thought we'd give you a little hint of what to expect at the final show this coming Friday in Perth at Metro City:
Take us through a typical set with Torro Torro:
We like to craft each set as a journey. Most of our sets are packed with as much of our own music as possible: brand new releases, exclusives, remixes, and re-edits of our songs. We will often incorporate tracks from a wide range of tempos and include a variety of styles that influence the Torro Torro sound: house, bass music, electro, techno, (t)rap etc...
What track are we opening up with?
That's always a surprise. We like to switch our sets up every night. But we always make sure that you can identify us right from the start.
You're miles away from home and you want to show some love for your home town/country. Which friend's work are you gonna play?
Lots of awesome house music from our dawgs: Sleepy Tom, Hunter Siegel, Grandtheft, Zeds Dead, and Shaun Frank.
The audience are welloiled, now it's time to make them lose their shit. What track is going to do it?
Torro Torro – Ca$hville or some of our upcoming remixes of Make A Move (Owsla) or the VIP edit of Torro Torro – Datsun Tropicalia.
You've got 'em now, got a track show off how deep your taste goes?
Not a new tune but, when we're deep deep in the deep end, we always love playing Glimpse - True South on Aus Music.
Energy levels are waning slightly, what's a fail safe pick me up–either for yourself, or the crowd?
Old faithful, our remix of Wax Motif and Neoteric's Go Deep.
We're on the home stretch, what's a brand new track you're going to test out?
Looking forward to testing out our new collaboration with UK producer Jackal, or our new collab with NYC-based Aylen, or maybe one of our other new demos we have in the works.
It's time for a breather, got a track with some real emotional feels?
What So Not - Gemini, Drake - Hotline Bling, The Weeknd - Hills.
Good night all and thanks for coming–what track are you going to leave everyone with?
Maybe our personal mash-up of Peking Duk's High x Torro Torro, or maybe our pal Golden Features – Telescope. Or just end it on Genuine - Pony LOL.
