Watch: Boy & Bear - State of Flight

Sydney-bred indie quintet Boy & Bear recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their ARIA double platinum debut album Moonfire by performing to a sold-out audience at Sydney’s State Theatre Centre. Today the outfit set off into a new chapter as they announce their latest single release State Of Flight and dates for a nation-wide tour this June to July. 

Accompanied by stunning video shot in a lush paddock surrounding a barn in Windsor, NSW, directed by Taylor Ferguson, State Of Flight sports the bands effortless ability to blend folk and pop sensibilities together into a catchy and cohesive work. With a soulful driving beat, atmospheric guitar strums and melodic guitar flurries, choirs of chanting vocal harmonies, and a lead vocal that effortlessly switches from a hearty and smooth deep tone to a sweet and melodic falsetto, the track rings triumphant right through it’s three-minute and forty four-second length. On the release Dave Hosking shares “The song is really a love letter to the arts, to the joys of being creative. I love making music, and even in the face of considerable challenges these last few years, it’s only further solidified my obsession and genuine love of the creative process.”

To sweeten the deal, Boy & Bear have also announced a huge tour right around the country - and yes it includes dates for WA.
