Premiere: RAAVE TAPES do dance-punk very right on new single 2 U xoxo

Take me back to a time when electronic music was live and a little bit dirty.

Did you know there was once a time when Australian dance music wasn't ruled by bedroom producers with a knack for crafting impeccably-produced electronic music? Well there was. And bands like Art Vs Sciene, Midnight Juggernauts, Van She (early days) and more ruled the stage with a kind of dirtier, live(r) electronic sound that itself was reminiscent of acts like Death From Above 1979 and Soulwax.

Newcastle favourite sons RAAVE TAPES are here to take you back to those glory days, melding the electronic with punk and rock in such a way that's allowed them to share stages with the likes of Hocky Dad, The Bennies and more, all the while throwing some sneaky synths in there to keep it, for lack of a better term, ravey. New single 2 U xoxo is pleasantly raw, grinding along with enough attitude to force you to stomp your feet and bang your head at the same time. Get stuck in below, and catch 'em on a big celebratory tour this month and next (full list down the bottom):
