Premiere: Propulsive Pop-Punk Single from Dial Denial

Soak up Eora/Sydney-based four-piece’s hook filled new anthem ‘Paperwings’ a day ahead of release

With previous singles seeing love from triple j and community radio around the country, and having supported the likes of Switchfoot, Hockey Dad and more, Dial Denial have expanded their catalogue with their anthemic & empowering new pop-punk single Paperwings, out September 15 but premiering on Pilerats today.

Opening with a mellow guitar melody, Paperwings soon turns things up to 11 with rapidfire drums and blistering guitars, with frontman Fergus Harley-McDonald’s soaring vocals the cherry on top.

Talking about the inspiration behind their new single, the band explains "'Paperwings' is an amalgam of everything I fear as I start to become an adult. I was afraid of a bunch of very small things that stacked up to create complete mental claustrophobia. Moving from home, losing self worth, change, losing my relationship, losing my friends, all that good stuff. The songs about exhaustion from bending yourself to other peoples will, and saying "Fuck that! I worked hard to become who I am and I like who I am". The chorus song is coated with a thick lining of irony, directly pointing the finger at people who play the victim. Everyone goes through tough times, and it's what makes us who we are. Don't change who you are for others, change yourself for the better."

Soar with Paperwings a day ahead of release:
