The Perth favourites have also announced a national tour to go with it, featuring dates across March.

Death By Denim are one of our favourites among the local band circuit, so it brings us an immense amount of joy to see the coastal rockers start to branch out nationally too, something they're really set to do with their latest single Cigarettes And Honey, as well as its accompanying national tour. It follows on from a year where the four-piece seemingly went from strength to strength, with a four-track run of consistently incredible singles - the Pilerats-premiered Tattoo and What I Got From You, with After Party and Rise wedged in between - placing them as not just one of Perth's best and most celebrated newcomers, but as a band destined to achieve the natural national outreach they have the promise to do, something that a big 2019 planned is set to cement.

It kicks off with Cigarettes and Honey, a breezy return to glory from Death By Denim who take on an almost-Arctic Monkeys-esque vibe, pairing psychedelic-leaning guitar riffs and punchy percussion with this dominative vocal, which is where that Arctic Monkeys/down-tempo The Strokes comparison really shines through; striking with this confident and tall-standing feel that really demands your attention. "Cigarettes And Honey oozes sentiments of a summer gone by; balmy nights infused with twinkling half-set suns and sweet, thick tropical drinks," says the band on the single, hinting at the breezier and more subtle shading that Cigarettes And Honey occupies in comparison to their past work. "It’s a portal to that party down your road, where all your friends celebrate the moment you walk in. The song was inspired by our singer Nik chasing a soothing swig of honey with a puff of a dart in the Jack Rabbit Slim’s green room before a show."

It arrives with a video clip too, worked on alongside the Graffic Jam team - a local collection of Perth creatives that are quickly finding their space within the Perth videography realm. "We were very fortunate to team up with local producers Graffic Jam in the creation of the music video," the band continues. "They have been doing amazing work producing visuals for Perth up and coming artists (and beyond) over the last year. After previously doing a live session together, we sat down over a coupla bevs to discuss ideas for a clip. The general concept was to combine a bit of fun with a bit of mystery, and the contrast of cigarettes and honey gave room for a lot of aesthetic imagery in two different settings. With some stunning close-ups of bees in a smokey hive cut against ridiculous shots of Nik riding a push bike in a beekeeper suit, we definitely got the vibe we were looking for."

Catch them on tour at a bunch of shows across next month, including venues in the east coast that are sure to fill up quickly - dates below.
