Hot on the heels of ambient instrumental acoustic EP Cloudcabins, WA-based, English born songwriter Ben Catley is back with the beautilfully atmospheric The Place That I Left, out Friday July 29 and premiering on Plierats today.
Pairing intricate fingerstyle and percussive guitar with big falsetto vocals, The Place That I Left showacases Catley's skills as both a performer and songwriter, taking a poetic, nostalgic picture of the small coastal town in Northern England Ben grew up in, as he recounts everything from late night train run ins with bullies to paper routes in the snow. The Place That I Left is the first taste of Catley's new EP set for release in Augusst.
