Listen: SG Lewis - Missing You/ Something About Your Love

The London-based singer-songwriter, producer and DJ brings disco inspired takes into a new modern-pop context with a new double A side release.

A couple of years back we were introduced to a new era of SG Lewis, as the London-based singer-songwriter, producer and DJ was about to drop a full length album titled times. Today we see the artist yet again ushering in a brand new chapter with a double A side release Missing You/ Something About Your Love

The double release has a sound reminiscent of 70s and 80s sounds, with big synthesizers, funky bass lines and reverb-drenched beats, all whilst holding its place in a modern-contemporary setting with the crispness of production and polished pop vocals. Both tracks are dance-floor ready adrenaline rushes, Missing You taking a more pop-filled route as you lose yourself to the rhythm in the club, Lewis sharing “Conceptually, it felt like the perfect introduction. It’s a story about temptation and dwindling fear. Your eyes are wandering.”

Whilst Something About Your Love is a Daft Punk inspired take that has a disco-styled feel, SG Lewis adding It’s no secret I’m a massive Daft Punk fan. It’s the closest thing I’ve ever made to a tribute to them. I was listening to 'Discovery' a lot, and there’s a specific technique to it. I chopped up the sample of these seventies keys and drums. It came together easily. Lyrically, it’s a pure confession of admiration for someone. It’s the perfect contrast to ‘Missing You’.Beautifully euphoric, It’s the perfect tune for kicking off your weekend, whether it's drinks with friends or a car ride to a night out.
