Listen: Loon Lake - Radiator

The latest hit by Loon Lake, plus details of their Final Wave farewell tour.

It's certainly a bittersweet month for Melbourne five-piece Loon Lake, having recently announced their decision to split, but not without a new bangin' single from their latest set of recordings set to release in late September. Radiator is their newest offering, and a compilation of verses frontman Sam Nolan penned about different girls he'd met over the years, noting the "funny little stories about them" he'd "put together to make it into one imaginary girl." Premiered yesterday via Tone Deaf, the track follows fan favourites Just Now, and former triple J Hottest #100 hit Cherry Lips which reached #29 on the countdown, and an incredible #9 on the iTunes charts.

Regarding their breakup, the band wrote, "We are very, very proud of what we have achieved over the last 6 years, to be honest, we never really set out to achieve anything except have a bit of fun, but even in our wildest dreams, we couldn't imagine it would be this fun.... Loon Lake isn't breaking up, we are just winding up. We are all still best mates and that wont change." The statement can be read in full here.

As a farewell, Loon Lake are heading around the country on their Final Wave tour, including a Perth show at our own Jack Rabbit Slim's. We're sure going to miss these guys, and as a thankyou from the band to all of us fans over their six-year long career, ticket pre-purchases (available here) will be rewarded with a sneaky album download. Check out the tour dates, along with the group's latest release Radiator, below.
